Located at the confluence of the Dudh Kosi and Imja rivers at an altitude of about 3870m, this Buddhist monastery is the largest in the area and home to about 60 monks. Originally built in 1916 it maintains strong links with its mother monastery, Rongbuk, on the north side of Mount Everest in Tibet.
Our aims are to promote sustainable tourism with a legacy. To this end, we endeavour to provide you with a mind-blowing experience whilst employing entirely indigenous people and using our profits to provide help for local families who have lost a member due to a climbing incident.
